Football administrator cum politician Charles Kwadwo Ntim, popularly known as Mickey Charles, has taken swift action to assist a fellow Ghanaian football fan, Mohammed Alhassan, who is suffering from severe back pain in the United Arab Emirates to be flown back to his hometown.

Mr. Ntim received a distress call from the UAE on Tuesday 4th June, 2024 about Alhassan, also known as ‘Asieer’, who has been a dedicated errand boy around the national teams especially the Black Stars. Initially skeptical, he suspected it might be a scam, but hurriedly decided to verify the situation himself.

“Honestly, I thought it was one of those scammers,” Ntim admitted. “I quickly returned the call to ascertain things for myself and realized it was true.” Micky Charles mentioned.

Upon confirming the severity of Alhassan’s condition, Ntim reached out to key figures in the Ghanaian football community for support. He contacted Ameenu Shardow, Black Stars Team Manager as well as players namely Mubarak Wakaso and Awal Mohammed.

“I put a call through to Ameenu Shardow, Mubarak Wakaso, and Awal Mohammed to support me in flying him back home,” Ntim explained.

Thanks to their collective efforts, they have secured a flight for Alhassan to return to Accra tomorrow, Thursday 6th June, 2024. The former BA United CEO and President of Techiman City FC expressed his gratitude to Ameenu Shardow, Mubarak Wakaso, and Awal Mohammed for their prompt assistance in ensuring Alhassan’s safe return.

“Thank God, we have secured him a flight back to Accra tomorrow. Thanks so much, Ameenu Shardow, Wakaso Mubarak, and Awal Mohammed,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, back in 2021, the passionate football lover hilariously threw shades at the players when he described them as ”stingy’‘ players.

According to him, the the squad weren’t friendly and would not engage fans.

“You are in the media and you know you have some players who like you,” he told Wallace of Asempa FM. “But these crop of players, they won’t even laugh with you,” he added with a stern face.

“They won’t even smile with you. They won’t give you even 1 cedi. Call back Afriyie Acquah and Boakye Yiadom, they are the ones that can give us something,” he continued.

“My name is Mohammed and I am a football fan. I came to see them off from Kumasi, but wasted my money.”
