Mohamed Polo praises Dreams FC boss Karim Zito’s coaching brilliance ahead of crucial Zamalek clash

Former Accra Hearts of Oak head coach and 1978 Afcon victor, Mohamed Polo, has showered praise on Dreams FC’s head coach, Abdul Karim Zito, for his stellar performance in guiding the team to the brink of history.

Zito’s impressive achievements have caught Polo’s attention, who highlighted the significant impact Zito has made in the football scene.

Dreams FC, under Zito’s guidance, stands just two games away from potentially clinching their first-ever CAF Confederation Cup title, following a goalless draw in the first leg of the semi-finals against Zamalek in Cairo.

Polo believes that Zito’s contributions have helped ease some of the pressure on the Ghana Football Association, providing a beacon of hope amidst the challenges faced in the sport.

“I think he has done tremendously well because the expectation brought tension on the FA. I have already mentioned that this GFA is the best FA I have ever seen. I have been in the system and been with the FA. I have seen different GFA but this is one of them who have come and impacted our football,” Polo remarked.

Dreams FC is currently in Kumasi, intensively preparing for the crucial return encounter against Zamalek on Sunday. Drawing from his experience of winning the 1983 CAF Champions League, Zito aims to guide Dreams FC to victory in their quest for their maiden CAF Confederation Cup triumph.

The last Ghanaian clubs to feature in the final of the CAF Confederation Cup were Accra Hearts Oak and Asante Kotoko in 2004, with Hearts of Oak emerging victorious after a thrilling penalty shootout, securing an 8-7 win after a 2-2 draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
