Dutch Eredivisie giant AFC Ajax Amsterdam manager Maurice Steijn has described Ghana star Kudus Mohammed as a jewel.
The manager salivated over the performance of the 23-year-old Ghanaian versatile player for the team in their comeback win over Heracles Almelo.
“I have read a lot of reports about Kudus this week but there is literally nothing right now that points to him leaving,” Steijn said after Kudus scored in season opener.
“I spoke to him this week and he is fully focused on Ajax. He is a jewel for Ajax”.
Kudus, 23, played full throttle for his team and dazzled for the home team who are sweating to keep the player at the club beyond this summer.
Mario Engels broke the deadlock of the match to put the visitors 1-0 up after five minutes inside additional time period of the opening 45 minutes of the match.
Just before the end of the first half, Jakov Medic found the back of the net for Ajax to restore parity before the interval.
Fifteen minutes away from the full time whistle, the Ghanaian international scored the second goal for the home team to go 2-1 up against the Black and Whites outfit.
Steven Bergwijn scored twice later on including a last-gasp spot kick to make the final score 4-1.
