Black Stars defender Mohammed Salisu has urged striker Antoine Semenyo to bring his impressive club form into Ghana’s upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
Ghana is currently tied at the top of Group I with Comoros but has struggled for consistency, failing to win in six consecutive matches during the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, which saw them miss out on the tournament in Morocco.
Ahead of Friday’s crucial clash with Chad, Salisu engaged Semenyo in a conversation about his Premier League performances, showing admiration for the forward’s contributions this season.
“How many goals have you scored this season?” Salisu asked.
“Nine goals and four assists,” Semenyo responded.
Encouraged by the numbers, Salisu replied: “We need that on Friday.”
The Black Stars began their training camp on Monday and will continue preparations throughout the week before taking on Chad. After that, the team will head to Morocco for their matchday six encounter against Madagascar.
