Southampton star Mohammed Salisu has become the first defender to score for Ghana at the FIFA World Cup tournament in history.
The center-back was on target for Ghana in their 3-2 win over the Taegeuk Warriors of South Korea on Monday afternoon at the Education City Stadium in Al Wakrah.
He scored the first goal of the match to put the Black Stars team 1-0 up after just 24 minutes of the end-to-end game in Group H at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar.
“Mohammed Salisu has become the first defender to score for Ghana in World Cup history.”
