In a sudden turn of events, FC Petrocub has announced that they have mutually terminated their contract with Samaritan Investment, the company that brought in former Asante Kotoko CEO Nana Yaw Amponsah as the club’s new president six months ago.
Under Amponsah’s leadership, the club achieved a historic double by winning the Super League and Moldovan Cup, earning a spot in the UEFA Champions League preliminary stage. However, Samaritan Investment has cited “unusual activities” within the club and a mismatch in vision regarding the future sporting direction as reasons for their decision to end the partnership.
According to an official statement, Samaritan Investment has entrusted their legal team to investigate and pursue all irregularities to their legal and ethical conclusions. The company has stated that they met all conditions under the agreement, despite numerous breaches and violations by their partners.
“After a successful six-month partnership with CS Petrocub Hincesti, during which we achieved an unprecedented and historic double by winning both the Super League and Moldovan Cup, Samaritan investment has decided to dissociate from the
administration and operations of the club,” an official statement read.
“This decision was made due to the discovery of unusual activities within the club and a mismatch in vision regarding the future sporting direction of the club.
“As a reputable consortium with a proven track record of success, we take these matters seriously and have entrusted our legal team to investigate and pursue all uncovered Irregularities to their legal and ethical conclusions.
“We state unequivocally that we met all conditions under the agreement as would be revealed with time despite numerous breaches and violations by our partners.
The statement concluded by wishing the club success in its future endeavors.
“We appreciate the achievements made during our partnership and wish the club success in its future endeavors,” the statement added.
It appears that Nana Yaw Amponsah’s time at FC Petrocub has come to an end, bringing an abrupt end to his tenure as the club’s president.
