German-Ghanaian attacking midfielder Moritz-Broni Kwarteng came off the bench to score a decisive late equaliser for VfL Bochum in their 1-1 draw against Arminia Bielefeld in the 2. Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.
The 28-year-old made an instant impact after being introduced in the 79th minute, finding the back of the net shortly after to secure a valuable point for Bochum in their Round 32 encounter.
Bochum had earlier fallen behind in the 27th minute when Joel Grodowski handed the hosts the lead. Despite pushing for a response, the visitors found it difficult to break through a well-organised Arminia Bielefeld defence for much of the contest.
The turning point came late in the game when Kwarteng was brought on. Demonstrating composure and sharp attacking awareness, he capitalised on his opportunity to level the score, rescuing his side from defeat and underlining his effectiveness as an impact substitute.
Kwarteng has now made 16 appearances in the league this season, contributing one goal and one assist. Since joining Bochum in 2023, he has played a supporting but important role within the squad, with his contract running until the summer of 2027.
