Nana Kwame Dankwah, the General Manager of Division One side Okwahu United and former supporters’ chief of Asante Kotoko, has urged Benjamin Asare, goalkeeper for Accra Hearts of Oak and the Black Stars, to consider making a move to Kumasi-based Asante Kotoko.
Asare’s rise to prominence has been swift, following an exceptional debut for the Black Stars in March, where he secured his position as Ghana’s first-choice goalkeeper. His stellar performances in the recent FIFA World Cup qualifiers have further solidified his standing on the national scene.
In an interview with Hot FM, Nana Kwame boldly asserted that joining Asante Kotoko would be a pivotal move in Asare’s career development.
“It would truly benefit him [Benjamin Asare] if he joined Kotoko,” Nana Kwame remarked. “Hearts of Oak will not support his growth in the same way.”
Asare, who was recently named Man of the Match in Hearts of Oak’s 1-0 victory over Medeama SC on April 6, 2025, has increasingly attracted attention regarding his future, making Nana Kwame’s comments likely to spark debate among supporters of both clubs and national team fans.
