Accra Great Olympics defeated Division One side Golden Kicks FC 4-3 on penalties after a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium. The Accra derby saw the experienced Great Olympics triumph on penalties to secure Round 32 slot.
Na God lost 2-1 against fellow Division One side Vision in another all-Accra-based club affair. Na God took a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute. Vision went down to 10 men in the 53rd minute yet scored twice through Emmanuel Akansase and Habib Ganiyu in the 76th and 85th minutes respectively.
At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Nations FC entertained the fans as 6 goals were scored between the two teams with Kotoko winning 4-2.
Kotoko took a commanding lead as Steven Mukwala opened the scoring in the 5th minute. Isaac Oppong and Richmond Lamptey added the two in the 13th and 18th minutes to give Koroko a 3-0 lead.
Nafiu Sulemana pulled one back for Nations FC before the break.
Steve Mukwala scored in the 4th minute into the second half to restore Kotoko’s three-goal lead as Asamoah Boateng Afriyie scored in the 71st minute to restore Nations FC’s little hope for coming back.
The win will boost Asante Kotoko’s morale ahead of crunch ties against in-form. Berekum Chelsea and perennial rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.
