Muhazi United star player Joseph Sackey says they are now getting their acts together after their poor start in the 2023/24 Rwanda Primus League.

The Rwamagana based club had been impressive since the second half of the game against Police FC and they have duly built on that performance.

They are unbeaten in their recent two games defeating City rivals Etoile de l’Est 1-0 in match day seven before holding league leaders Musanze FC to a 1-1 draw in Ngoma.

Sackey who scored the goal for Muhazi against Musanze on Saturday, October 21 has now netted twice for the club from his defensive midfield position this campaign and he says they are getting things right.

“I don’t have much to say though, but what I can say is that we’ve been playing very good football since the start of the the season, but our goals were not coming, so we the playing body had a massive discussion about that situation. Our goals started coming from Etoile de l’Est game and it has kept coming.” Sackey told Sportsworldghana.com in an interview.

On his goal against Musanze, Sackey indicated he is glad to be on the score sheet against the league leaders as it was a tough encounter.

He further revealed that despite being a defensive midfielder, scoring goals is one of his greatest weapons and he will score more as the season progresses.

“First of all, I give thanks to almighty God. It was a tough game considering the fact that Muhazi are the league leaders. We took the game at the early stage by pressing them, so that’s how we scored our first goal. And me being a defensive midfielder to score two goals so far, I feel so great and happy and there’s more to come.”

The midfield anchor also revealed that he is hoping to be among the top scorers in the league and also help Muhazi FC to a good position on the league table.

“My target for this season is to be part of the goal king chat and to place my team Muhazi United in a better position.” He added

Sackey, 21, previously played for Ghanaian second tier side Wa Suntaa FC where he was their player of the season for 2022/23.
