According to Kwadwo Boateng Genfi, spokesperson for the Asante Kotoko board, the club’s CEO, Nana Yaw Amponsah, will not be dismissed, despite reports that he was summoned by the board to explain the sacking of Coach Seydou Zerbo without their knowledge.
Recent reports state that six out of seven board members have voted in favor of Amponsah continuing as CEO, with only one member proposing his dismissal for failing to inform the board prior to the sacking.
Despite not being able to disclose the board’s discussion, Genfi confidently confirmed that Amponsah would not be sacked.
“Whatever it is, Nana Yaw Amponsah will not be sacked now. We will not sack him. Although I cannot disclose what the board discussed I can confidently confirm that he will not be sacked. For him to be sacked or continue after his term I will say we will cross the bridge when we get there,” Kwadwo Boateng Gyenfi told Ghanasportspage.com.
Amponsah has been the club’s CEO since August 2020, winning one Premier League title and currently leading the team ranked fifth in the BetPawa Premier League after 24 games with a game in hand.
