Former Asante Kotoko captain and Black Stars player, Joe Debrah has revealed why they have distanced themselves from the various Ghana national teams.
According to Joe Debrah, he and his colleagues often want to pass on their knowledge to help develop Ghana football but they are often met with hostile attitudes.
He said the national team handlers often see them as threats and people who can replaced them in their respective position so they don’t create enabling environments for them to get closer to the teams.
“National team handlers feel we are coming for their jobs if we get close to offer advice to the teams,” Joe Debrah in an interview with Kumasi-based Kessben TV.
“As legends, we will want to get close to our national teams and the clubs to offer needed and quality advice but if you try to get close to the teams, they think you are coming for their jobs, and the way you will be received is just awful,” he added.
