Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has underscored the vital role of management committees in ensuring the success of the country’s national football teams.
Speaking before the Parliamentary Select Committee on Ghana football matters on Monday, September 30, 2024, Okraku highlighted the extensive effort required for World Cup qualification, stating, “It takes four years of hard work, sleepless nights, and constant travel to secure World Cup qualification. This cannot be achieved in just two days.”
He also emphasized that similar dedication is necessary for junior national teams, noting, “It takes two years to secure qualification for these teams. Every single day of the year, work is being done.”
Okraku’s comments were a response to mounting criticism from football fans and pundits regarding the effectiveness of management committees. He asserted, “This has to be made very clear: management committees do not exist on paper; they work. And everybody who has had the chance of being part of any of our national teams will speak to this.”
