Nations FC have secured a place in the quarter-finals of the Ghana FA Cup after recording a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Swedru All Blacks in the Round of 16.
The encounter, played at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex, saw the Abrankese-based side emerge stronger against their Ghana Premier League opponents to seal qualification to the last eight of the competition.
Nations FC found the net at key moments of the match, scoring in both halves to maintain control despite resistance from Swedru All Blacks. The Swedru side, guided by newly appointed coach Kasim Mingle, had hoped to spring a surprise, but they were outmatched by a more determined Nations FC outfit.
The win sends the team led by Frimpong Manso into the quarter-finals, keeping their FA Cup dream alive. For Swedru All Blacks, the defeat brings their Cup campaign to an end.
This result keeps Nations FC firmly on course in their bid to lift the FA Cup for the first time in the club’s history, as confidence continues to grow with each round.
Swedru All Blacks will now turn their full attention to the Ghana Premier League, where they aim to regroup and focus on preserving their top-flight status for the remainder of the season.
