Negeri Sembilan FC have bolstered their attack by signing Ghanaian forward Joseph Esso ahead of the 2025-26 Malaysian Super League season.
Now 28, Esso arrives with an impressive résumé. He shone in the Ghana Premier League with Dreams FC and Ebusua Dwarfs before testing himself abroad at MC Alger, scoring 11 goals and supplying five assists in 66 outings for the Algerian giants.
Last season he rediscovered his scoring touch, bagging 11 goals in 32 matches for Dreams FC—form that convinced Negeri Sembilan’s scouts to move quickly for his signature.
Esso is no stranger to the international stage either. He helped Ghana reach the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations final, finding the net against Senegal in the showpiece.
Known for his speed, clever movement in the box and relentless work rate, the Ghanaian forward is set to team up with Luqman Hakim, Selvan Anbualagan, Japanese duo Takumi Sasaki and Mio Tsuneyasu, and Serbian winger Jovan Motika in coach Nidzam Jamil’s frontline.
The club believes Esso’s arrival adds depth and a proven goal threat—clear evidence of Negeri Sembilan’s determination to mount a serious challenge in the upcoming campaign.
