Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo has voiced his team’s preparedness ahead of their upcoming encounter against the Black Stars of Ghana.
The two teams, finalists in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, are set to face off in an international friendly scheduled for Friday at 4 pm.
The highly anticipated match is slated to take place at the Grande de Stade Marrakesh in Morocco. Both sides last met during the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, where they played out drawn games in both legs.
Ghana secured a 0-0 draw at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi before holding the Super Eagles to a 1-1 draw in Nigeria, advancing on away goals. However, with the friendly looming, both teams are eyeing victory to claim bragging rights.
Expressing his thoughts ahead of the clash, Omeruo emphasized the team’s readiness to face the Black Stars. “It’s good to see the boys again after the AFCON in Ivory Coast. We’ve been training and working on our tactics to play this game. It’s usually not a friendly game against Ghana, so we are ready for the game and we will go out there to win,” he stated.
Nigeria legend Finidi George, serving as interim coach for the March international friendlies, will lead the team for this crucial encounter against Ghana.
