Former Ghana midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang says the Black Stars can can beat Nigeria in the World Cup play-off on a back of good day.
The Super Eagles will play the Black Stars in a two-legged encounter with the winner securing one of the five slots on the African continent.
The first leg of the crucial qualifying tie will be played March 25 at the Baba Yara Stadium before the reverse encounter on March 29 at the Moshood Abiola national stadium in Abuja.
Speaking to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM Badu said Ghana can defeat Nigeria if they get a good day and luck.
“The strength of the Nigeria team is their attack; they’ve got top strikers who are doing well at their various clubs. Osimhen is their main but ask yourself if he will get the supplies he uses to get at Napoli”
“There are question marks about the Black Stars backline especially, the fullbacks but I believe that, on a back of good day and luck, Ghana can beat Nigeria”
“Nigeria is beatable, I see a lot of loopholes in their team, they also have challenges in their defense. Our players need to have the character to play against Nigeria because most of players have not tasted such games”
Having missed out in the last edition of the Mundial, the Black Stars are seeking to play in the World Cup for the fourth time having played in the 2006, 2010 and 2014 in Germany, South Africa and Brazil respectively.
