Captain for Nigeria, William Troost-Ekong wrote on his X wall, “Issue RESOLVED. We are together and, as before, focused on the games ahead!”

Nigeria on Tuesday decided to not continue training ahead of the make or break match on Thursday afternoon in Rabat against Gabon.

Unpaid bonuses and allowances since 2019 by the NFF to the Super Eagles was the main reason the team decided to discontinue their preparation against The Panthers of Gabon.

Whether the NFF has paid the team remains unknown per multiple reports but the squad is expected to put up a professional performance on Thursday night after the agreement was reached.

A meeting between senior officials of the National Sports Commission, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and player representatives, which lasted over hours on Tuesday night helped the issue to be solved.

Nigeria will face Gabon at 4 pm on Thursday at the Stade Prince Moulay Hassan where the winner will play against the winner of the Cameroon against D.R. oCngo clash
