Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheanacho signs for Sevilla after leaving Leicester City

Nigeria striker Kelechi Iheanacho has completed a transfer move from Leicester City to Sevilla on a two-year contract with an option for one more season.

Iheanacho becomes the fifth signing of the club for this 24/25 season after Ejuke, Peque, Saúl and Sambi. He arrives at the club on a free transfer after his time at Leicester City.

The Nigerian striker, 27 years old and 185 centimeters, who began his career in 2014 in his country, made the leap to Europe the following season with Manchester City, to initially play in the lower categories of the English club. Already in the first team, to which he was soon promoted, he played 64 games, with 21 goals and 7 assists in the next two seasons.

In 2017, Iheanacho became part of the discipline of Leicester City, a club where he had already been on loan for some time in their youth academy after landing in the Old Continent. With the then recent Premier League champions in 15/16, the African plays a total of 232 games in all competitions, with 61 goals and 34 assists during this last stage, extended until this last 23/24 campaign.

The new Sevilla striker has also played a total of 19 games in European competition; , with 7 matches in the Champions League, another 11 in the UEFA Europa League and one also in the Conference League. Regarding his numbers with the senior team, it should be noted that he has 55 games and 19 goals to date. His greatest achievement came in 2017 with the conquest of the U-17 world championship.
