Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has reached an agreement to extend his tenure at Napoli until 2027, and penned a two-year contract extension with improved terms at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Osimhen, who has been on fire as a striker, played a pivotal role in Napoli’s triumphant capture of their first Scudetto in 32 years. He secured the league’s top goalscorer accolade and was honored as the league’s standout striker.
Despite attracting interest from a multitude of European clubs, including Manchester United, PSG, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich, the 24-year-old has chosen to prolong his stay in Naples for at least another season.
Additionally, Osimhen was approached by a Saudi Pro League team, which offered a reported weekly wage of £1 million.
Under his new contract, the striker is set to earn an annual salary of €10 million and will have a release clause ranging from €140 million to €150 million embedded in his agreement, which is now extended until 2027.
Osimhen’s contentment with the club remains high, and he is poised to lead the team once again in the upcoming season, now under the guidance of new manager Rudi Garcia. Despite a minor injury concern, his preseason form has been exceptional.
