Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has emphasized the importance of recognizing the limitations of every player, including global superstar Lionel Messi.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, July 24, 2024, Ouattara stressed that no player is perfect and that even the great Messi has his flaws.
“There is no player who is 100% perfect. If you know one mention his name and I’ll tell you one thing he can’t do, including Messi, have you seen Messi cross the ball before? Everyone has their mistakes,” he said.
The Phobians had a disappointing finish to the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, ending up 14th out of 18 teams. Ouattara is looking to turn things around next season and is working on strengthening the squad through a technical review.
“We’re starting to get a team,” Ouattara said. “We want to have a good team for next season and play well for the fans. We don’t want to struggle and be close to the relegation zone. We want to do better than last season.”
