Fosu, a former Brentford forward was key as Northampton earned a 3-1 win at Huddersfield Town over the weekend with a 8.20 rating. Fosu provided the assist for Cameron McGeehan‘s strike midway through the first half before getting on the scoresheet after the break, those coming from respective returns of one key pass and two shots.
The 28-year-old attacker, who is looking to reignite his career in the lower leagues, started the match and played 70 minutes, playing a pivotal role in his team’s dominant display at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Northampton Town took an early lead just 18 minutes in, thanks to an own goal by Huddersfield defender Michal Helik. The visitors doubled their advantage seven minutes later when Cameron McGeehan slotted home after a precise assist from Fosu, capping off an explosive first half for Northampton.
Fosu further contributed to his team’s success by scoring a decisive third goal in the 58th minute, cementing Northampton’s control of the match. Although Huddersfield managed a late consolation through Josh Koroma in the 80th minute, Northampton’s victory was never in doubt.
