The Ghana Football Association has announced that Forson Amankwah will join the Black Stars squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
The 21-year-old Norwich City midfielder is coming on board after a late call-up, replacing the injured Elisha Owusu. Amankwah, who has impressed with two assists in six appearances since moving from Red Bull Salzburg, will arrive in Kumasi on Tuesday to prepare with the team.
Previously a standout at West Africa Football Academy (WAFA), Amankwah has already earned two caps for Ghana, having played against Nigeria and Uganda earlier this year.
Ghana will start their Group F campaign against Angola at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, September 5, 2024, before heading to Morocco to face Niger on Monday, September 9, 2024.
