Nottingham Forest is nearing an agreement with Chelsea for the permanent transfer of Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Chelsea is open to facilitating Hudson-Odoi’s departure before the transfer window closes, as he is not included in the club’s first-team plans at Stamford Bridge.
At 22 years old, Hudson-Odoi has not been assigned a squad number for the current season, and Chelsea is eager to offload him, especially as he is in the final year of his contract.
Although Fulham and Everton were previously linked with potential moves for Hudson-Odoi during this summer, progress on those fronts has stalled. This has created an opportunity for Nottingham Forest to secure the acquisition of this talented attacker.
Hudson-Odoi’s brother, who also serves as his agent, attended Nottingham Forest’s match against Sheffield United last Friday. This presence has sparked speculation about a potential move for the Chelsea player to the City Ground.
Previously, the UK-born Ghanaian received attention from Bayern Munich with a £70 million bid in 2020. He spent the last season on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, participating in 21 matches across various competitions. During this period, he scored one goal and provided one assist.
