Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has provided an update on the status of the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of upcoming matches.
Speaking on the venue, he said, “This venue has been passed for now with conditions. ‘Yes, you can play all your matches here, but you need to do A, B, C’….most have been done for the purposes of the qualifiers, but long term, we need to do more.”
Ampofo Ankrah explained that while the stadium meets immediate requirements for hosting matches, several improvements are still necessary to ensure it meets long-term standards.
He emphasized that ongoing work and maintenance are crucial to provide a safe and comfortable environment for players, officials, and fans.
The NSA Director-General expressed optimism that with continued attention and upgrades, the Accra Sports Stadium will remain a top venue capable of hosting major local and international fixtures.
