Bofoakwa Tano coach John Eduafo has graciously conceded that Maxwell Konadu’s Nsoatreman FC deserved their victory in the Ghana FA Cup final on Sunday evening.
Despite his team’s valiant effort, Eduafo believes that Nsoatreman FC were the better side and earned their 5-4 penalty shootout win.
“Both teams had a very competitive game. We took the lead and they came back to equalize at the tail end. Penalties can go either ways. We missed the chance and they took their chance and won. They are equally a better side and deserve to win” he said.
Nsoatreman FC came from behind to beat Bofoakwa Tano in the final played at the University of Ghana Stadium, with Sadat Mohammed equalizing for the underdogs in the 33rd minute. The game ended 1-1 after regular time, leading to a tense penalty shootout, which Nsoatreman SC won convincingly.
The win marked Nsoatreman’s first major trophy and earned them the right to represent Ghana in the prestigious CAF Confederation Cup next season.
Meanwhile, Bofoakwa Tano will be playing in the Division One League next season after failing to maintain their top-flight status.
