Oduro and Issah set for Black Stars opportunity amid Barça Atlètic playoff uncertainty

Two promising Ghanaian talents, David Oduro and Abdul Aziz Issah, are on the verge of earning a place in Ghana’s squad for an upcoming international friendly against Mexico in May. The duo, who currently ply their trade with Barça Atlètic, have been identified as part of the next wave of players being considered for the senior national team.

According to emerging reports, both players are strongly in contention for inclusion in the Ghana national football team squad. However, their availability is not yet guaranteed, as it hinges on a key factor—whether Barça Atlètic secure qualification for the promotion playoffs in Spain’s lower divisions. Should the club advance, there is a possibility that they may request the players to remain in Spain to support their campaign.

This development places both Oduro and Issah at a critical crossroads in their young careers. On one hand, a call-up to the senior national team represents a significant milestone—an opportunity to gain international exposure, integrate into the Black Stars setup, and stake a claim for future competitive matches, including World Cup qualifiers.
