Ghana forward Emmanuel Boateng has completed his move Israeli topflight side Hapoel Tel Aviv in the winter transfer window.
The former Levante striker inked a one-and-a-half year deal to join the Tel Aviv-based club after leaving Turkish outfit Gazientep.
Boateng will join his new teammates on Tuesday after arriving in Israel over the weekend to complete all necessary formalities. He also watched the club in their league game against Maccabi Netanya, a match they won 2-0.
“I was impressed by the strength, can’t wait to get on the pitch,” he said.
“I’m happy to join Hapoel Tel Aviv. Already yesterday when I was at Bloomfield I felt the strength of the crowd and the club, and I can’t wait to get on the pitch and help my friends continue the good season they’ve had so far. See you soon, come on Hapoel,” he added.
Boateng is expected to play a key role in Hapoel Tel Aviv’s quest for the title as they currently sit third after 21 matches in the ongoing campaign.
The 29-year-old, fondly remembered for his famous hat-trick against Barcelona during his time in La Liga, also spent time with Rio Ave, Dalian Professional, Al Arabi and Moreirense in his career.
