It is done, Kylian Mbappé has chosen to stay at Paris Saint – Germain.
The Parisian star finally stays at PSG and rejects the offer from Real Madrid. A relief for the capital club, which will still be able to count on its prodigy next season.
Kylian Mbappé has finally said yes to PSG. After an endless soap opera, the Parisian striker who was coming to the end of his contract chose to stay in Paris, according to those around the club.
A three-year contract, in all likelihood is in place. As promised by those close to him, the 23-year-old world champion decided this weekend, while Paris is playing its last match of the season on Saturday evening (9 p.m.) against Metz.
The Bondy crack therefore ended up rejecting the assiduous interest of Real Madrid, who wanted to make him their new star and had already tried to recruit him a year ago, to extend his lease at the capital club where he has been evolving for five years.
This was already the trend, as we explained at the beginning of May.
Excellent news for PSG and Ligue 1
With this decision, the Parisian leaders can breathe a big sigh of relief. His departure would have left a huge void in a team where he has done almost everything this season, despite the presence of Neymar and the recruitment of seven-time Ballon d’Or Lionel Messi this summer.
Top scorer (25 goals) and best passer (17 assists) in Ligue 1, the Bondy prodigy was logically voted best player in the French elite a week ago. On the UNFP trophy scene, the player had promised that his choice between PSG and Real was “almost” made.
The coin ended up falling, and on the good side for Paris. The Parisian club, which is still chasing its first Champions League, will be able to count on the Blues striker to try to climb to the top of Europe next season. It’s obvious, but it will be more affordable with Kylian Mbappé than without. This is excellent news for PSG, which symbolically won its standoff from a distance with Real. But also for Ligue 1 which will still be able to enjoy the best player in the world for some time this season.
“Mbappé prefers the wallet” … the Spanish press between anger and dismay.
Mbappé stays at PSG: “It’s an insult to football”, criticizes La Liga president Javier Tebas.
