Medeama, the reigning champions of the Ghana Premier League, have made an exciting addition to their squad with the signing of midfielder Godknows Dzakpasu from Tamale City on a three-year deal.
After their triumphant campaign, clinching the Ghana Premier League title ahead of Asante Kotoko, Medeama’s focus now shifts to the CAF Champions League. Ghanaian clubs have faced challenges in the competition recently, with Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak struggling to progress.
To strengthen their chances in the African Champions League, Medeama has acted swiftly in the transfer market, securing the services of talented prospect Godknows Dzakpasu, just 11 days after the end of the season.
Dzakpasu, who showcased his abilities in midfield throughout Tamale City’s season, impressed in the final day encounter against Medeama, despite his team’s relegation. The 26-year-old featured in 28 matches for Tamale City, contributing 2 goals.
Medeama aims to replicate their performance in the 2016 CAF Confederations Cup, where they reached the group stage but narrowly missed out on qualification, facing tough competition from TP Mazembe and Algerian side OM Bejaia. Young Africans placed last in the group.
With their sights set on success, Medeama is determined to make an impact in the upcoming CAF Champions League campaign and build on their previous achievements.
