Ghanaian youngster Mathew Anim Cudjoe has been lauded by fans following his performance for Dundee United in the Scottish League Cup game against The Spartans Football Club.
Dundee faced Spartans in their first group game at Ainslie Park to kick start their season and were hopeful of getting all three points.
However, the club suffered a 0-1 loss with Blair Henderson’s 10th-minute strike enough to secure the win for the home side.
The Dundee United players have come under criticism from their fans for their performance but one man seems to have won the plaudits of fanbase as well.
Anim Cudjoe was singled out as the ‘only’ player to have given his all on the pitch and was duly so as he played the entire duration of the game.
Following the end of the fixture, a fan page on social media took to Instagram to appreciate the effort of the Ghanaian.

“Mathew Cudjoe was the only player today that I feel played for the badge and gave it his all out on that pitch today,” the post read.
“At every opportunity he took the defender on and that is what we need more of if we want to score goals.
“Mathew Cudjoe is a fantastic player, quick skillful and can pass the ball well. He may not have the strength but he is certainly enjoyable to watch with his silky skills.”
An exclusive image sighted by Sports World Ghana also saw a fan leave a note for the player at his home after the game on Saturday after.
