South African side Orlando Pirates have provided an update on Goalkeeper Richard Ofori who have been long-term absentee from the team’s line-ups as the club is finalising preparations for their CAF Confederation Cup match this weekend.
Following their emphatic win over AmaZulu last weekend in the Nedbank Cup, the Buccaneers have changed focus to the continental competition and will be facing Algeria outfit JS Saoura at Orlando Stadium on Sunday.
With the Soweto giants having gone for the better part of the first round of the season without the services of the club’s first choice goalkeeper Richard Ofori, the club has confirmed that the player is back in training although he is are unlikely to feature in the Confederation Cup.
“The Buccaneers will likely be without midfielder Vincent Pule and goalkeeper Richard Ofori, who have both resumed training but are not expected to feature in the clash,” Pirates confirmed on their official website.
Richard Ofori was injured on national team duty with Ghana against Bafana Bafana in September and has been out since.
He missed the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.
