The fairy tale of Osman Bukari in the elite division of Europe’s most prestigious club tournament has finally ended.
Bukari started the competition in style for Red Star after netting against defending champion Manchester City before scoring another against Young Boys. However, the hopes of the ex- Nantes player in the Champions League would only become a fantasy as they have a single point approaching the last group game against Manchester City at the Stadion Rajko Mitic.
Osman Bukari has distinguished himself amongst his peers in this short journey as this serves as his first taste of Champion league football.
The last time the Red Star won the Champions League was in 1991 when they defeated Marseille. Red Star Belgrade still have a chance to play in the Europa League if they defeat Manchester City at home and RB Leipzig wins heavily at home to Young Boys.
Ghanaian Intenational, Edmund Addo who also plies his trade was never involved in any of the Champions League matches. The ex-Sherif Tiraspol player has is yet to start a single League match this season for the Serbian side.
