Ghana winger Osman Bukari has made an immediate impact since rejoining Red Star Belgrade, scoring his first league goal, having already provided an assist in the Champions League qualifiers within days of his return.
The 27-year-old opened his account for the season in Saturday’s 3-1 league victory over Vojvodina.
Bukari broke the deadlock in the 15th minute, powering a header home from Bruno Duarte’s cross. He has now scored against Vojvodina on five occasions in nine meetings, making them his favourite opponents.
Earlier in the week, Bukari made an instant impact off the bench in Red Star’s 4-0 demolition of Northern Irish side Larne in the Champions League second qualifying round first leg.
Introduced at half-time, he needed just nine minutes to provide the assist for Vasilije Kostov’s second goal.
Bukari rejoined Red Star on a season-long loan from Polish club Widzew Lodz earlier this month, with the move including an option to make it permanent at the end of the season.
He previously enjoyed the most productive spell of his career with the Serbian giants, scoring 25 goals and providing 20 assists in 78 appearances across two seasons. He also scored memorable Champions League goals against Manchester City and Young Boys during the 2023/24 group stage.
With Red Star preparing for the Champions League second leg in Northern Ireland, Bukari’s early form suggests he could be pivotal to their European ambitions this season.
