Black Stars goalkeeper trainer, Fatau Dauda, has showered praise on head coach Otto Addo, revealing that his ability to manage players extends far beyond coaching.
In an exclusive interview after appearing at the 2024 Ghana Football Awards, Dauda sang the praises of Addo’s leadership skills, saying he is not only a great coach but also a masterful manager of players.
Dauda, who has worked under Addo in his second stint as Black Stars head coach, highlighted the importance of teamwork and alignment among the technical team.
“He always makes sure we align with each other…he’s a manager, he knows how to manage players not only coaching.”
The comments come after Ghana’s impressive back-to-back wins over Mali and Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, which have propelled them to second place in Group I standings.
With crucial games ahead, Dauda emphasized the importance of continued effort and unity within the team.
“We are trying our best to make things happen because things should be better but it takes time. The games we played are over, the games ahead are very important. He (Otto Addo) always wants to share ideas with the technical team.”
As a former player who competed in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Dauda has made the transition into coaching and has a unique perspective on Addo’s leadership style.
