Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says preparations for Ghana’s friendly against South Korea have been challenging due to multiple injuries in the squad, leaving only 19 players available for the match.
The team has been forced to adjust its plans after Francis Abu, Antoine Semenyo, and Mohammed Salisu were all ruled out. Abu underwent ankle surgery after fracturing two bones in last Friday’s match against Japan, while Semenyo and Salisu returned to their clubs with ligament sprains.
Otto Addo explained that replacing the injured players has been difficult, mainly due to visa and travel challenges, making it nearly impossible to bring in quick replacements.
Despite the setbacks, he remains optimistic:
He said the game will be tough, but the Black Stars have the quality to win, adding that the match provides a good opportunity for the players to show their capabilities.
Ghana faces South Korea on Tuesday, November 18, as they continue preparations for next year’s World Cup qualifiers.
