Asante Kotoko has received a directive from Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the life patron of the club, to conduct an immediate assessment of the abandoned Kotoko buildings at the Adako Jachie training grounds which was started by Dr K.K Sarpong, as reported by Opemsuo.com.
The King made this decision after visiting the training grounds along with club legends and supporters.
To carry out the assessment, an Architectural firm has been appointed and is scheduled to conduct the evaluation on Monday, July 24, 2024. The firm will then provide recommendations to the King regarding the next steps to be taken with the buildings.
The two buildings in question were originally constructed by Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong, with the intention of having a two-storey building to serve as a changing room and offices for the Technical staff. Unfortunately, these buildings have been left unused since Dr. Sarpong’s departure from office in 2013.
In addition to expressing gratitude to Dr. Kwame Kyei’s led Board for their service to Asanteman over the past three years, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has formed an Interim Management Committee (IMC) to oversee the affairs of the club.
The IMC includes Nana Apinkra Awua, Kontomponiafere, and chartered accountant, Kwasi Appiah, a club legend and former National team coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, Head Coach, and Emmanuel Newton Dasoberi, Administrative Manager.
