In the coming days, Asante Kotoko’s Life Patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is set to hold a meeting with the club’s stakeholders, including players and the National Circles Council, the club’s supporters group.
The purpose of this meeting is to announce a new direction for the club.
The move comes after the dissolution of the club’s Board of Directors and management, whose three-year mandate ended at the conclusion of the season. Otumfuo Osei Tutu II expressed gratitude to Dr. Kwame Kyei, who led the board, and Nana Yaw Amponsah, who served as the CEO in the management, while officially confirming their end of tenure.
The club has been facing challenges recently, with many attributing their struggles to an unhealthy relationship between the board and management, which significantly affected the club’s performance in the league.
According to reports from Graphic Sports, the monarch will meet the major stakeholders of the club on Friday, and the fans eagerly anticipate the announcement of a new set of board members and management team ahead of the new season.
Asante Kotoko is hopeful that the newly appointed authorities will lead the club to improved performances. Despite winning the Ghana Premier League two seasons ago, the Porcupine Warriors could only secure the fourth position, failing to meet expectations in the CAF Champions League and MTN FA Cup.
As the club aims to bounce back, one of the primary tasks for the yet-to-be-revealed administration will be to appoint a substantive coach for the upcoming season. The fans are eagerly waiting for the new leadership to guide the team towards success in the upcoming campaign.
