Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Life Patron and the Occupant of the Golden stool, has intervened to settle Noks Hotel’s debt on behalf of Asante Kotoko, Footballmadeinghana report.
The Kumasi High Court 7 had ordered the Porcupine Warriors to pay GHC69,960 owed to Noks Hotel Asokwa during the past administration’s tenure in April.
However, the debt remained unpaid by the former club leaders, prompting the club’s owner to take responsibility for settling the dues.
The debt accumulated as some club officials and players resided at the Kumasi-based hotel between 2018 and 2020.
Former CEO of the club, George Amoako, former management member, Edmund Ackah, and two players of the club, Dany Zabo Teguy and Habib Mohammed, lived at the hotel for seven months.
During CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup games, Ghana Football Association officials also stayed at the hotel while monitoring the club.
The Hotel’s owner has been invited to Manhyia Palace for an amicable resolution of the matter before the court’s deadline.
With new leadership in place, Asante Kotoko is determined to transform the club and regain its esteemed position in African football.
