West Ham United midfielder Mohammed Kudus has expressed optimism about the future of the Black Stars, stating that once the team is in top shape, they will be unstoppable.
The team has faced a period of underperformance, failing to win the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for over 40 years and experiencing disappointing showings in the last two tournaments. However, Kudus believes that with the right approach, Ghana can regain its former glory.
“Our aim is to get Ghana back there,” he told the Athletic, referring to the team’s past successes. “The past few years have been ups and downs so we have to get back to competing in the AFCON and trying to win it.”
Kudus, who currently plays for West Ham United, acknowledges the high standards set for the team but remains confident in their ability to succeed. He believes that the abundance of talent within the squad is just waiting to be harnessed.
“We have so much talent but we need to connect the puzzle and then we will have a bright future,” he said.
