Ameenu Shardow, the General Manager of Dreams FC, emphasizes the significance of the club’s impressive journey to the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup, showcasing the potential of Ghanaian clubs to excel in inter-club competitions.
Despite exiting the tournament following a 3-0 loss to Zamalek, Shardow underscores Dreams FC’s historic accomplishment as the first Ghanaian team to reach the semi-finals since 2004.
Grateful for the support received, Shardow acknowledges the Ghana Football Association’s role in facilitating the team’s participation through constructive dialogues.
“The campaign was stressful, right from our registration to our participation in the competition, but the FA came through for us, and for that, we are immensely grateful,” Shardow said.
“What we have done in this campaign is a big statement that Ghanaian football has a lot to offer. This shows that a Ghanaian club can win a trophy in the CAF-organized competitions soon.”
Dreams FC now sets its sights on another opportunity in the competition by aiming to secure a spot through the current FA Cup. Under the guidance of Karim Zito, the team prepares for a pivotal clash against Soccer Intellectuals, vying for a coveted place in the semi-finals.
