The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin has tasked the Black Stars to try and win the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Since the World Cup started in 1930, no African team has laid hands on the trophy.
And no African country has made it past the quarter-final stage. Ghana performed admirably in 2010, reaching the quarter-finals where they lost to Uruguay on penalties.
“I want to assure the Black Stars, this parliament is solidly behind them, and they should confidently go for the gold and cup,” Bagbin said on the floor of Parliament on Wednesday. The 22nd edition of the tournament kick-off from November 20 to December 18.
Ghana have been drawn against Uruguay, Portugal and South Korea in Group H.
