Bernard Mensah, the former Black Stars midfielder, has begun his training sessions with his new club, Al-Tai Football Club, following his recent transfer to the Saudi Arabian team on Saturday.
Mensah finalized a two-year contract with an option for an additional year, in a lucrative deal worth €1.7 million per year, after parting ways with his previous club, Kayserispor, in Turkey.
During his time at Kayserispor, Mensah’s performance was commendable, leading to a permanent transfer in 2019 after initially joining the Turkish club on loan. He also enjoyed a successful loan spell at Besiktas, where he won the domestic double.
As his contract with the Turkish side came to an end a few days ago, the skilled midfielder has now secured a deal with Al-Tai, a rapidly growing team in the Saudi Professional League.
Joining Al-Tai places Mensah in the company of notable stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, N’golo Kante, and Kalidou Koulibaly, who have all made moves to various teams in the competition this year.
The move to Saudi Arabia provides an enticing opportunity for the talented midfielder to showcase his abilities in a fresh footballing environment while contributing to his new team’s success.
Previously, Mensah had experiences in the Spanish La Liga, having played for former champions Atletico Madrid and Getafe.
