Ghana’s President His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, on Wednesday 30th March, 2022 welcome the Black Stars team to the Jubilee House following their qualification to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Ghana recorded a 1:1 aggregate scoreline against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the two-legged playoff tie. However, the team seal qualification to the World on the basis of FIFA’s away goal rule.
The first leg encounter ended goalless last Friday at the Baba Yara Stadium- Kumasi before the team held the Super Eagles to a 1:1 draw at the Mashood Abiola International Stadium on Tuesday to become the first African country to book qualification to the mundiia.
President Akufo-Addo, who was very impressed with the team’s performance on his birthday, hosted the the team at the seat of the Presidency to appreciate their hard work and commitment to the country.
Present at the Jubilee House, were the Minister for Youth and Sports Hon. Mistapha Ussif, President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Simeon Okraku, some GFA Executive Council members and the Black Stars technical team headed by Otto Addo.
Meanwhile, Ghana will know it’s group opponents in the World Cup on Friday when the draw for the tournament bis held in Qatar.
