Orlando Pirates co-coach Mandla Ncikazi has revealed that Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori has been called by Otto Addo for the impending world cup play off against Nigeria.
The Ghanaian goal tender returned to action on Sunday and was in post for Orlando Pirates who walloped Royal Leopards 3-0 in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Ncikazi hinted that Ofori even got the call up before playing his first game yesterday after six months on the sidelines with injury.
“You could just see the confidence he brings and breathes around the defence and I’m sure he is going to lessen the leaking of goals at Pirates because more than the fact that we are not scoring we are also letting in goals and I’m sure it’s going to improve.” He added.
Ofori is expected to be in post for Ghana on March 25 when they welcome Nigeria on the 2022 world cup play off first leg.
