Former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper William Shongwe has tasked the club to sign another goalkeeper.
Shongwe believes Richard Ofori and his two other deputies have not been well in terms of their fitness and is better the club adds one more keeper.
“The healthy situation would be for Pirates to add another goalkeeper in their department as Ofori is injury prone,” Shongwe told the Siya crew.
“Mpontshane has plugged the gap every time, but you can never bank your whole life on him, he has done well when given the opportunity and called upon, but they need a fourth one.
“Thuntsane is still inexperienced, and you would expect the coach to throw him in when there is no pressure, so he gets used to the professional level. Pirates depend on two goalkeepers, which is not ideal, so adding a fourth one would make sense as they want to challenge for titles, you know. You need depth in every department.” He added.
Ofori missed seven months of action last season after sustaining a shoulder injury in his country’s 1-0 world cup qualifying win over Ghana.
