Two misplaced passes by Inaki Williams and Osman Bukari cost Ghana as the Black Stars drew 2-2 with Egypt in the second game of Group B at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in the ongoing 2023 AFCON.
Kudus netted a brace as the Black Stars failed to win their second game in the AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.
sportsworldghana.com takes a look at how the players fared.
-Richard Ofori 6
Made one superb save from a Marmoush screamer. He was not at fault for the two goals Egypt scored.
Denis Odoi 6.5
Set up Mohammed Kudus for the Ghana second goal. His crosses weren’t accurate but his clearances at the back were efficient.
Gideon Mensah 7
Had a good game as compared to his outing against Mozambique, moved forward a couple of times and also didn’t forget his defensive duties.
Mohammed Salisu 6
Was very calm at the back, didn’t get much of the ball and his positioning was great.
Alexander Djiku 6.5
Marshalled the back four very well. Was a pillar as he thwarted most of the efforts of the Egyptians.
Samed Salis 7.5
Received a yellow card earlier in the game but it didn’t slow him down. He served as cover for the back four and went in for all the crunch tackles. Provided the assist for Kudus first goal.
Mohammed Kudus 9
Man of the match, two brilliant goals and he caused lots of problems for the Egyptians.
Jordan Ayew 8
Superb outing, he tracked back, defended gallantly and also excelled going forward.
Antoine Semenyo 7
He was a constant threat for the Egyptian with his pace and artistry.
Inaki Williams 4
Was virtually out of the game and gifted the Egyptians their first goal with a poor back pass.
Substitute
Osman Bukari 2
Caused the Egyptian second goal and was subbed off again.
Baba Iddrisu 3
Came on and added nothing to the game.
