The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Prosper Harrison Addo, says the association does not impose players on Black Stars coaches contrary to public knowledge.
There are claims the GFA has influenced the selection of players for the national team which has led to some players always playing for the team or being called up.
According to Harrison Addo, it is only the technical team that the squad selection and later presents it to the FA.
“When a coach makes a selection, we all say it is the coach’s squad. No one mentions his assistants,” he said on Citi FM.
“But there is a process – no single person makes a squad. It is the coach who discusses it with his team and then they bring the list, present it to the management committee and if there are questions, we ask. Then the list comes.
“Nobody imposes a player on the coach.”
