French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco defender Mohammed Salisu has opened up about his first game for Ghana ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament which was hosted by Qatar.
He revealed that it wasn’t easy for him making his debut for the Black Stars against the Seleção of Brazil when Ghana were thrashed 3-0 at the end of the match.
Nonetheless, the defender says he was very happy to make his Ghana debut as he went ahead to score Ghana’s first goalkeeper in their only win at the World Cup against South Korea.
‘Playing my first match with the national team against Brazil was really difficult. But I was really happy to make my debut,” he told the official club website(AS MONACO).
He joined AS Monaco from English Championship side Southampton FC after the club suffered relegation from the English Premier League last season.
