The Porcupine Warriors suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Medeama SC on Sunday 26th March, 2023 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Goals from Jonathan Sowah and Vincent Atingah ensured the Mauves and Yellow left the Baba Yara Stadium with all crucial three points.
The team from Tarkwa today locked horns with the Porcupine Warriors in a Week 23 counter of the ongoing Ghanaian top-flight league campaign.
In a clash staged at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, both teams started strong in the quest to secure victory to climb higher on the league standings.
Despite the good display from Asante Kotoko, the team trailed after just 14 minutes when Medeama SC scored through a header from Jonathan Sowah.
While the Porcupine Warriors would improve their play to try and restore parity before the break, the team was not successful in finding the back of the net.
After recess, Medeama SC displayed an impressive performance and fought to protect the lead.
Eventually, in the 78th minute, the Yellow and Mauve outfit sealed the victory thanks to a penalty kick converted by defender Vincent Atinga.
The win has sent Medeama SC to 4th on the Ghana Premier League standings with Asante Kotoko dropping to 7th.
